This custom “One of a Kind” Humidor is made from Honduras Mahogany. The top is made from "crotch" Mahogany that has been “book-matched, that is why you see the "mirror image". The forward and back edges are banded with MACASSAR EBONY (Diospyros celebica), which is one of a group of ebonies from the East Indies, ranging from Sri Lanka to Indonesia. This close- grained, heavy hardwood machines and turns well, but tends to dull tools and is difficult to glue. Used for turned and carved items, inlays, and contemporary furniture. Ebony is so expensive it isn't sold by the board foot, but is sold by the pound. The "white" inlays are American Holly. The "red" inlays are Tulipwood. Mahogany has long been a favorite of furniture makers for building high-end furniture. Crotch Mahogany is some the most valuable veneer in the world. It is warm brown in color and because it’s “crotch” it has the most beautiful grain patterns that you will ever see. There is something about Mahogany that speaks quality and most people know and love this wood. This is some of the best looking “Crotch” Mahogany that I have ever had in my shop. It is very old, somewhere between 80 and 100 years old. The person I got it from is 75 years old and he got it from his father and he is not sure how long his dad had it. The Mahogany slab was about 2 and one half inches thick and very uneven. I believe it was a slab left over from a veneer mill. The corners have been splined with Wenge, for appearance and added strength for the corners. This is a unique "One-of-a-Kind Humidor" signed and dated. Airtight lid will not "bang" when closed. All my Humidors get 6 to 8 coats of polyurethane oil finish that is "Hand Rubbed" to give them the best finish possible. Completely lined with Spanish Cedar. Dividers slide in grooves to make size adjustments easy and secure. Only first quality, solid brass hinges and stays are used. This is a very large humidor and has a full lift out trays with storage in the bottom and will hold 35 to 45 cigars. Comes complete with a custom Humidifier and Hygrometer and a five page manual that covers how to set-up and care of your new Humidor.

This is a large Humidor made out of Wormy Chestnut. Wormy Chestnut is my best selling wood because there are no more American Chestnut trees alive. The front and back edges are banded with MACASSAR EBONY (Diospyros celebica), which is one of a group of ebonies from the East Indies, ranging from Sri Lanka to Indonesia. This close- grained, heavy hardwood machines and turns well, but tends to dull tools and is difficult to glue. Used for turned and carved items, inlays, and contemporary furniture. Ebony is so expensive, it is sold by the pound. The American Chestnut was killed by a blight that was introduced into the United States in the 17th Century by some plants infected with the blight brought in from Japan. By the mid 1930's there were not many trees left. The only way to get any Wormy Chestnut timber is to find an old barn or some type building and salvage what you can. The going price of Wormy Chestnut is around $12.00 dollars a board foot, as is, nails and all. By the time I tear down a building, dress the lumber, my yield is about 40% usable wood. That is not counting all the saw blades and planner blades I lose due to hidden nails. The cost of Wormy Chestnut at this point is probably around $30.00 dollars or more per board foot as best as I can figure. This is a unique "One-of-a-Kind Humidor" signed and dated. Airtight lid will not "bang" when closed. All my Humidors get 6 to 8 coats of polyurethane oil finish that is "Hand Rubbed" to give them the best finish possible. Humidor is completely lined with Spanish cedar. Dividers slide in grooves to make size adjustments easy and secure. Only first quality, solid brass hinges are used. This is a large humidor and has a full lift out tray with storage below the tray. This Humidor will hold approximately 30 to 40 cigars. This Humidor will become a family heirloom to be passed on from generation to generation hopefully. Comes complete with a custom Humidifier and Hygrometer and a five page manual that covers how to set-up and care of your new Humidor.

This custom “One of a Kind” Humidor is made from Bocote, (Cordia elaeagnoides) also called Mexican or Mayan Rosewood, this attractive wood is a product of Central and northern South America. This wood is very hard and dense with a distinctive striped-to-flowered grain. This wood has streaks of Gold, Yellow and Black running thru it. Bocote is a wonderful wood to work with and has a fantastic grain pattern and finishes very well. In recent years, Bocote has become one of the most expensive woods that I work with. Nothing matches its “grain Pattern” for beauty. Available lumber is short and generally narrow. This Chest was build so the grain "wraps" around the Chest and matches on all four corners, matching three is easy, but matching four takes some woodworking skill. This is a medium size humidor and will hold 15 to 20 cigars. Comes complete with a custom Humidifier and Hygrometer and a five page manual that covers how to set-up and care for your new Humidor.

This custom “One of a Kind” Humidor is made from Honduras Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla). Often named after the country it came from (i.e. Brazilian Mahogany, Peruvian Mahogany, etc.). Mahogany is scattered areas throughout central and South America including some Caribbean islands. The species is secure in El Salvador and Honduras, but it has become endangered or extinct in some regions of South America. Honduras mahogany trees once had a distribution covering most of South America. Supply of the wood is still plentiful thanks in part to plantation harvesting, where trees reaching heights of 150' with trunk diameters as large as 6'. The wood is strong and dense and has been used to make some of the finest furniture in the world. Mahogany stands for quality. The popular Chris Craft wooden boats were built from mahogany until the early 1960 when it was replaced by fiberglass. This Chest was build so the grain "wraps" around the Chest and matches on all four corners, matching three is easy, but matching four takes some woodworking skill. The inlays are Mahogany and Maple.
