This custom “One of a Kind” Humidor is made from Chechen (Metopium browneii): from Central America, Mexico, Yucatan and is red to golden-brown, with lots of variation. Size ranges from 18-24" in diameter reaching up to 50 feet in height. Sap is said to be caustic and should be avoided, but the wood is not. The wood Texture is fine and uniform, pores barely visible; grain often interlocked. The wood works with some difficulty due to its hardness and density, and sharp tools must be used. Easy to finish and takes an excellent polish. The inlays are Maple, Ebony and Mahogany. This Chest was build so the grain "wraps" around the Chest and matches on all four corners, matching three is easy, but matching four takes some woodworking skill. This is a unique "One-of-a-Kind Humidor" signed and dated. Airtight lid will not "bang" when closed. All my Humidors get 6 to 8 coats of polyurethane oil finish that is "Hand Rubbed" to give them the best finish possible. Humidor completely lined with Spanish cedar. Dividers slide in grooves to make size adjustments easy and secure. Only first quality, solid brass hinges and stays are used. This is a medium size humidor and will hold 15 to 20 cigars. Comes complete with a custom Humidifier and Hygrometer and a five page manual that covers how to set-up and care for your new Humidor.

Size is approx. 8 x 10 x 4.  Item# ted_699   Cost 339.00 (Free Shipping!)

This custom “One of a Kind” Humidor is made from “Quilted” Bubinga, (Guibourtia demeusii) this strong, heavy West African hardwood is rose to red in color with dark streak running throughout it and often found in striped to mottled figure. This Quilted Bubinga is the first that I have ever had in my shop and is also the first that I have ever seen. This is the most unusual and beautiful grain pattern that I have ever seen. My wood broker says it’s his first also; it’s just too bad that I don’t have very much. This is one of the “rarest” woods that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Bubinga is naturally reddish in color and twice the density of Paduak, also a red colored wood, but about the same density as Cardinal Wood, which is also red in color. These three woods are sometimes mistaken for each other. Bubinga is very durable and an excellent choice for custom cabinetry, high-end furniture and specialty boxes. This is one of the “difficult woods” to work with, you need very sharp tools and sanding has to be perfect or sanding marks will show. Not an easy wood to work with, but the end results are well worth it. The inlays are Maple, Ebony and Mahogany. This Chest was build so the grain "wraps" around the Chest and matches on all four corners, matching three is easy, but matching four takes some woodworking skill. This custom “One of a Kind” Humidor is made from American Black Walnut (Juglans nigra) is among the most desirable hardwoods. Walnut has long been the favorite of furniture makers for building high-end furniture. There is something about Walnut that speaks quality and most people know and love this wood. This medium weight, attractive wood is sawn into a variety of figures, including crotch, burl and fiddleback. Walnut works well, carves and turns extremely well also. Walnut is prized for building furniture, clock cases, gunstocks, and musical instruments. The top is Maple with Zebrawood on forward and back edges. The “Diamond” inlay is Paduak. Box joint construction make for a very strong joint. This is a unique "One-of-a-Kind Humidor" signed and dated. Airtight lid will not "bang" when closed.
